JoAnn Walker's Obituary

JoAnn Walker, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born in Tennessee on September 13th, 1950, she moved to Michigan at 12 and graduated from Willow Run High School in 1968. JoAnn married Gary Van Walker on November 27th, 1975, sharing over 47 years of loving marriage. A loyal member of Calvary Baptist Church since November 1981, JoAnn's faith fueled her kindness and servant’s heart. She is survived by her loving husband Gary, her children Shaun (Mary) and Christy (Bob), and eight adoring grandchildren (Ethan, Shane, Sadie, Skylar, Wyatt, Tori, Rosie, Levi). Her funeral was this past Friday at Calvary Baptist Church. JoAnn’s legacy is one of faith, compassion, and devotion. As we grieve her temporary absence, we find comfort in the prospect of a heavenly reunion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Hope Clinic (https://thehopeclinic.org) or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (https://www.jdrf.org). Join us in praying and caring for the Walker family at this time.

Vineyard Kids Volunteer Orientation

New and returning children's ministry volunteers are invited to lunch and training time today after church. You'll get to meet your team, go over class routines, synchronize schedules, and pray for our kids. Let Pastor Marissa know if you'd like to join our Vineyard Kids team this fall.

Church Cookout | August 27th

Join your church family for food, games, and fun after the church service. Sign up in the lobby if you're planning to come, and let us know if you're able to bring a side dish or help with setup or clean-up. Even if youre only 51% sure you'll be there, sign up anyway.

Sunday Night Worship

Worship is the expression of reverence, honor, and respect to God. Join us for a time of extended community worship-focusing on the heart through intimdate songs and restorative prayer. Vineyard of Ann Arbor Church gallery. Sunday evening, September 17th, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. All ages welcome!

Lead a Life Group this Fall!

Fall brings new members to our church eager to make friends. Would you consider leading a life group? Life groups gather on a consistent schedule (weekly, monthly, etc.) and typically share a common intrest or a Bible/book study. Your pastors can provide curriculum, coaching, and even space in the church if you can make yourself available on a regular basis to gather with a group of people who want to get to know each other.

Homeless Ministry Donations Needed!

Homeless Ministry could use specific donations of chocolate Ensure, canned soup (with a pop-top, NOT condensed), granola bars, tuna in packets (NOT canned), and bottled water. Questions? Ask Pastor Shaun at shaun.walker@annarborvineyard.com or text him at 734-945-7670

Sunday Morning Prayer

Join us at 10:15am in office A2 (office to the right in the gallery area) each Sunday to pray for our service and our church community.

Youth Group

6th-12th grade students are invited to gather in the youth room on the first and third Sundays of the month during the service from 11:00am-12:15pm. We start youth group with a game or an activity. There are donuts or some type of treat followed by a quick lesson and faith based discussion. We typically end by sharing prayer requests.

One-on-One Prayer

If you would like someone to pray for you personally, email prayerteam@annarborvineyard.org with your name and phone number. Someone on our prayer team will give you a call.
